Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How do I get a quotation?
A. Just fax, bring in or post a dimensioned sketch to our office and within two or three working days you will receive a hardcopy quote back from our estimating and pricing department. Our quoatation will include a dimensioned copy of your benchtops including all cut-outs, tap holes, sizes etc that we have included. In order for us to price your job accurately please try to supply measurements that are as close to size as possible, this will eliminate any extra charges. After you place your order and pay the 50% deposit we will arrange for our specially trained staff to visit your site to manufacture a full set of working templates.

Q. What if sizes do change?
A. The greater the accuracy of the measurements supplied the less the chances of any extra charges. However if this does occure we will notify you of the costs before we proceed with any cutting.

Q. How much overhang do I need to allow where there are finished edges?
A. Our standard overhangs are 40mm. We can have up to a maximum of 300mm overhang without added support.(usually on island benchs)

Q. How thick are your benchtops?
A. Slab thickness is 20mm (+/-1mm) with an optional 40mm laminated edge on all seen edges.

Q. What edge finish do you do?
A. Granite by Design offers a variety of edge details, but the standard edges priced are either a full 40mm bullnose, a 20 or 40mm square edge with a small radius on the top and bottom edges.
